full panel 2012 & In honor of MakoSomething I need to put up on this group first. In honor of the memory of the great Mako Iwamatsu, who was the voice of Uncle Iroh on Avatar the Last Airbender. Today is the anniversary of his death. Take a moment to think about how he impacted both Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend Of Korra.
Mako Iwamatsu - December 10, 1933 — July 21, 2006
Alright. So this is the majority of the commentary they made while they were showing the concept art! Unfortunately, the concept art itself wasn’t recorded in the video - it just shows the panel talking. Also the first few pics with the Water Tribe festival are missing.

SDCC 2012 Concept art (lots of images) and MOREBOOK 2: SPIRITS
ARTWORK FROM BOOK 2!
Six months after Book 1, going to show short animatic of where the characters are. In the thick of animation and design and production, still a very far way to go, but lots of great concepts:
Opening of Book 2 in a festival in the sourthern water tribe, gentle snow falling, lanterns, circus games, A PAINTING OF A MUCH LARGER SOUTHERN WATER TRIBE!
Southern Water Tribe has a beautiful banquet hall made of ice
Great landscapes, storms, ominous rock formations
“Mysterious location they’re journeying to in this storm, with cool spooky lighting”, harkens back to the glow Aang’s iceberg had
Naga and Korra exploring the mysterious location
Twisted roots coming out of ice walls
Southern Air Temple all spruced up
Vistas, base of the mountain around the temple, very gentle, “misty kind of Chinese mountains”
Ancient air bender site
Explore the spirits, background, creation of the Avatar
A look at Mako and Bolin's pastA new Legend of Korra-related webseries has been released by Nickelodeon, giving viewers a glimpse at Mako and Bolin’s hard-luck childhood.
A new short webseries called Republic City Hustle debuted today on Nickeldeon.com. Republic City Hustle serves as a small prequel to The Legend of Korra, focusing on the characters of Mako and Bolin as young orphans trying to survive in Republic City.
The beautiful paper-cut animation style of Republic City Hustle is very distinct from The Legend of Korra‘s visual identity. However, the consistent character design and voice work by Korra‘s David Faustino (Mako) and PJ Byrne (Bolin) – as well as the use of music from season 1 – help Republic City Hustle remain perfectly in tone with the Avatar universe.
Republic City Hustle will be told in three parts, and will continue next week (August 16). Check out the first installment right here:
Zuko's mom, we might learn where she is!Yes that title is indeed correct, Zuko’s mother is finally going to be answered. Via a comic as most of us expected.
Now bullet points of info from the interview.
There will be some “supernatural” IE spiritual events here
Some of the political situation from The Promise will continue here
The Search focuses mainly on Zuko and Azula, Aang and co will be present, but the royal siblings drive the story.
Zuko will continue to adapt to his role as Fire Lord
The Search takes place immediately after The Promise ends
Gene Yang and Team Gurihiru remain as the creative team
We will see how Azula’s stay in the mental institution has affected her
Katara and Aang’s relationship will develop more, but will be a very minor aspect of the story
Toph also only plays a minor role
what happened to zuko's mother?Dark Horse continued to up the "Avatar" ante with its graphic novel series "The Promise," which helps fill in the gap between the end of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "Legend of Korra." Written by "American Born Chinese" creator Gene Luen Yang with art by Gurihiru Studios, the three-part graphic novel series wraps in September -- but that doesn't mean it's the end of Avatar Aang's adventures.
This weekend at the American Library Association, Dark Horse announced Yang and Gurihiru will return for a second "Avatar: The Last Airbender" graphic novel series called "The Search," which explores the biggest unsolved mystery in "Avatar" lore: what happened to Prince Zuko's mother?
CBR News spoke with Yang, a longtime "Avatar: The Last Airbender" fan, about his work on "The Search," wrapping up "The Promise, his feelings about "Legend of Korra," the challenge of linking the two shows and their characters together and the return of Princess Azula. No release date at this time. Go look at this

What is next 4 Book 2, Thoughts & OpinionsNow that book 1 is over, what is instore for the next Season? One thing that i would hate to see happen is that if they decided to make the show five or ten years into the future. "that would suck" We would like to know what you think? Give us your thoughts and opinions on this subjects.
Is Korra/Avatar a kids show?spoiler alert
If Michael and Bryan had a choice, i think that both shows would have been more for teens then for kids. Look at what happen on today's episode. She was on a damn cliff. She was close enough to the edge of the cliff that her tear was able to fall all the way down it rather than hitting the snow. She was standing on the edge of the cliff and she was at her “lowest point”
Yeah, I do kind of think she was contemplating suicide. She did think that she was not the Avatar anymore. She thought she was crippled and useless, and everyone knows when one Avatar passes, a new one is reborn. So maybe she considered it - just for a second - to commit suicide so that the next Avatar could be born - whole. That’s pretty fucking deep for a kids show, but maybe I’m reading too much into it.
But she was strong enough to ask for help, at least that’s why I think Aang showed up. Deep inside, she was calling for help. And she thought that she was alone. That

Stockers I Hate, Feature EditionSo, the stock community has grown and improved so much since I first started producing stock, and there are so many stockers whose stock I love.
These aren't them. The stockers featured here are the people whose stock is so good, that I hate them out of pure jealousy. They tend to be people with resources or abilities beyond the scope of my own, and much the same taste. I'm only featuring stockers that primarily produce male stock, because that's what Ari and I do. If I featured female stockers I envied as well, we'd be here all year.
The first that has to be mentioned, of course, is jademacalla. I've hated him from day one, in a good way. His stock is awesome, and often makes me think "That must be uncomfortable."
In the vein of obnoxiously athletic stockers, I'd be wrong not to mention DaeStock, 'cuz, well, Duuuuuude. If you're looking for epic displays of male physicality, he's the stocker for you.
I also hate (in the good way) Nemesis-19 Not all of his stock is up my

So if you ever made something based on one of my photos, a link (comment on this journal) would be appreciated and maybe you'll find your work in some of my future blogs / journals
