SDCC 2012 Concept art (lots of images) and MOREBOOK 2: SPIRITS
ARTWORK FROM BOOK 2!
Six months after Book 1, going to show short animatic of where the characters are. In the thick of animation and design and production, still a very far way to go, but lots of great concepts:
Opening of Book 2 in a festival in the sourthern water tribe, gentle snow falling, lanterns, circus games, A PAINTING OF A MUCH LARGER SOUTHERN WATER TRIBE!
Southern Water Tribe has a beautiful banquet hall made of ice
Great landscapes, storms, ominous rock formations
“Mysterious location they’re journeying to in this storm, with cool spooky lighting”, harkens back to the glow Aang’s iceberg had
Naga and Korra exploring the mysterious location
Twisted roots coming out of ice walls
Southern Air Temple all spruced up
Vistas, base of the mountain around the temple, very gentle, “misty kind of Chinese mountains”
Ancient air bender site
SPIRIT WORLD!!!!

SDCC 2012 Legend Of Korra Fan Panel SummaryIn a room of 4, 500 hardcore fans, the Legend of Korra San Diego Comic Con panel opens with an epic montage of Book 1 moments backed by a stunning score by the Track Team.
The panel introduction is by moderator, Rich Magallanes, who states he is blown away by the entire Avatar universe and its development.
The creators come out - followed by Joaquim dos Santos and the brilliant voice director Andrea Romano. The cast enters: Janet Varney, David Faustino, Seychelle Gabriel and P.J. Byrne. Seychelle rocks a cute steampunk cosplay.
According to Hypable  there are still 4, 000 people waiting outside Ballroom 20. In 2004 Korra/A:TLA was in a room with 50 people.
If you didn't already know, there will be 4 books (seasons) with 52 episodes divided as so:
Book 1: Air - 12 episodes
Book 2: Spirits - 14 episodes
Book 3 - 13 episodes
Book 4 - 13 episodes

Oh my Makorra Week entries are going to be interesting now. Mako's a cop? With a motorcycle? And Korra's shirt combo made her look even SEXIER. Bryan & Mike Preview the Season FinaleBryan and Mike on the Legend of Korra season finale in an interview with WSJ.
The penultimate episode had the surprise appearance of General Iroh. What can you tell us about him? Are we going to see more of him in the future?
Konietzko: Yeah, he’s in the finale. Just so we’re clear—he’s Zuko’s grandson, not his son. I think there was some speculation about whether he was his son or grandson. It is his grandson. He’s voiced by Dante Basco. The idea behind him was to have a swashbuckling hero-type guy. He’s the youngest general in the United Forces which is kind of the U.N. of the “Avatar” world now. We just thought it would be a fun way to tie in the legacy of Zuko without having Zuko be present there.

full panel 2012 & In honor of MakoSomething I need to put up on this group first. In honor of the memory of the great Mako Iwamatsu, who was the voice of Uncle Iroh on Avatar the Last Airbender. Today is the anniversary of his death. Take a moment to think about how he impacted both Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend Of Korra.

The Legend of Korra: The Movie?Paramount pushes for a new "animated" feature film.  http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/17/the-legend-of-korra-the-movie
update: Variety reports that Paramount Pictures’ animation division is looking to expand. It seems like they are looking to Nickelodeon for some content, although nothing seems confirmed yet. says Variety.
What do you guys think? Will this/ can this happen "but animated this time"?

Saw it & loved it! A nice little taste of what's to come. Bolin's the new captain of the Fire Ferrets, Mako's a cop, Asami has taken over her dad's company, and Korra is messin' with the Avatar State! I have no idea what that shadow-monster was, but it's worth waiting around to find out.
